Ten foreign tourists who violated the coronavirus lockdown rules in the city of Rishikesh, India were sentenced by the local police, to write "I did not follow the rules of lockdown, I'm very sorry" 500 times.

These tourists, coming from Israel, Mexico, Australia and Austria, were caught walking around an Ashram, the place where the Beatles were seeking a spiritual journey.

As per India's lockdown, residents are only allowed to leave their homes for essential services such as buying groceries and medicine. So far, more than 700 foreign tourists from the United States, Australia, Mexico and Israel in the area have violated the lockdown rules.

Police in India have taken various measures to urge citizens to stay at home to stop the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, including wearing a helmet shaped like a corona virus.
