The Hôtel du Palais is a historic hotel located beside the Atlantic coast in the resort town of Biarritz, France. Originally the hotel was built for Empress Eugénie around 1855 as a summer villa. It was because of the visit of the imperial couple that the village of Biarritz developed into a fashionable resort. In 1880, the villa was sold and converted into a hotel casino.

Destroyed by a fire in 1903, this hotel was rebuilt larger and more luxurious than the original. Over the years the hotel attracted an international elite, including members of European royal families such as King Edward VII of England, who made several lengthy visits. In the 1950's the hotel was then damaged and closed for renovations and returned to being a luxury hotel.
