Chansey Park is a Pokemon park that opened in Namie, Fukushima, in late 2021.

Chansey is an adorable pink Pokémon appointed as a Pokémon representative in Fukushima Prefecture, as it is said to bring good luck.

Fukushima Prefecture and Pokemon Company signed a collaboration agreement to revitalize Fukushima Prefecture.

After the earthquake disaster that caused the giant Tsunami, they are trying to recover the economy through tourism these days.

Chansey Mascot Meaning

Fukushima in Japanese means the lucky island, so they choose Chansey the Pokemon as the mascot in Fukushima because Chansey also means Lucky.

Other Tourism Enterprises

There has been many initiatives taken to stimulate tourism and raised spirits in Fukushima after the March 2011 Tsunami. The recently completed is The Great East Japan Earthquake Museum which you can visit near Chansey Park.
