The piano, named Tocho Omoide Piano (Tocho Memory Piano) was inaugurated by the Governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike in public on April 8, 2019. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government was inspired by several train stations and airports abroad that provide a piano that can be played by visitors.

All visitors are given the opportunity to freely play this piano from 10AM to 4PM. However, each person is limited to playing for five minutes, taking turns with other diners who want to try. The Observation Deck in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is a very popular place that is visited by more than 2 million tourists and locals every year.
