Surabaya Zoo, also known as "Bonbin", is one of the oldest zoos in Indonesia. It was founded in 1916 by the Dutch colonial government and is currently managed by the Surabaya City Government. The zoo covers an area of 37 hectares and is home to more than 2,500 animals of more than 200 species.

Orangutan Island is a must-visit for anyone interested in seeing these amazing creatures up close. Often a joke by Surabaya residents, the goal is to go to "Bonbin" to visit distant relatives (orangutans) 🤣
