Location and Access to Sultan Adam Forest Park

Sultan Adam Forest Park is located on Jalan Ir. Pangeran Mohammad Noor, Mandiangin Timur Village, Karang Intan District, Martapura City, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. This place is about 52.4 kilometers from Banjarmasin City and can be reached in about 1 hour using private vehicles.

The road to the location is paved, so access to this place is easy. Visitors can also use public transportation or online motorcycle taxi services.

Opening Hours and Entrance Ticket Prices

Sultan Adam Forest Park is open every day, with the following operational schedule:

  • Sunday-Thursday: 06.00 to 16.00 WITA.
  • Friday-Saturday: 06.00 to 00.00 WITA.

Here are the entrance ticket prices and other fees:

  • Adult entrance ticket: 12.000 IDR.
  • Children's entrance ticket: 10.000 IDR.
  • Camping: 6.000 IDR per person.

History of Sultan Adam and Area of Tahura

This park is named after Sultan Adam, the ruler of the Banjar Sultanate who ruled from 1825 to 1857. Sultan Adam Forest Park covers an area of around 112,000 hectares, making it one of the largest forest parks in Indonesia.

However, the area that can be explored by visitors is only around 200 hectares. Visitors can learn about the history of the Banjar Sultanate and see various natural and cultural relics in this area.

Dutch Pond and Heritage Fort

One of the interesting objects in Sultan Adam Forest Park is Kolam Belanda, a natural swimming pool built during the colonial era. This pool offers cool and clear water from mountain springs, making it a suitable place for swimming and relaxing.

In addition to the pool, there is also the Dutch Fort, a historical relic that still stands firmly on the top of the hill. This fort can be reached via a trekking path that has been provided, providing a historical tourism experience amidst the beauty of nature.

Mandi Angin Waterfall

Mandi Angin Waterfall is one of the main attractions in Sultan Adam Forest Park. With a height of about 12 meters, this waterfall offers beautiful views and a cool and refreshing atmosphere. This waterfall is a favorite place for visitors to take pictures and relax in the middle of nature.

Camping Area

Sultan Adam Forest Park also provides a large camping area, complete with basic facilities such as toilets, parking lots, and a place to make a campfire. Visitors can camp at a very affordable cost, which is 6.000 IDR per person if they bring their own tent.

Trekking and Natural Scenery

For nature and trekking lovers, Sultan Adam Forest Park has many trekking trails that cross forests, valleys, and hills. Along this trail, visitors can enjoy views of dense tropical forests, green valleys, and cool mountain air. One of the popular photo spots is Bukit Tirai Hujan, where visitors can enjoy stunning views from the top of the hill.
