The village of Sankt Corona am Wechsel (Saint Corona) in Austria has been indirectly affected by the corona virus outbreak and is currently rethinking its tourism campaign program, because the name of the village is associated with the corona virus that is now sweeping the world.

Tourism is the main source of income for the village of Saint Corona, which has a population of 400 people and is located 100 kilometers south of Vienna at the foot of the Alps.

Michael Gruber, the village's mayor, explained that initially his party thought the association between corona virus and the village name and mascot would be a temporary thing. Now, the mayor is thinking of a new name for the mascot and branding to attract tourists again.

The village's tourism mascot, also named Corona, is an ant wearing sports clothes.
