Spot, dispatched by the Singaporean government to help remind its citizens about social distancing. This dog-shaped robot is very hi-tech, and can climb all types of terrain easily. Spot also uses cameras to estimate the number of visitors in a cluster area.

To help remind residents, Spot made a reminder sound: "For the safety of yourself and those around you, please stand at least one meter apart. Thank you."

Developed by US company, Boston Dynamics, Spot is increasingly famous for its viral video where robots show off dancing to Mark Ronson's song "Uptown Funk" - and which has been seen more than 6.8 million times on YouTube.

Some residents said the robot was "cute" and useful as a way to determine how crowded the place is. However, other residents were alarmed, "I think it's really a strange way - using robots to monitor the activities of residents,"

The Singapore government has calmed residents of privacy concerns, saying Spot cameras cannot track or recognize individuals and no personal data will be collected.
