Es dawet, also known as es cendol, is a typical Javanese dessert made from rice flour or glutinous rice flour, served with shaved ice.

Has been around since the 1990s, Es Dawet Ngudi Roso is deemed to be one of the legendary culinary delight in Yogyakarta. At that time, there were no other dawet sellers on Jl Yogya – Solo in the Prambanan area, making Es Dawet Ngudi Roso the pioneer of dawet in this area.

The owner is Pak Karno Cipto, who has been selling es dawet for almost 30 years. Because it has been around for a long time and there are many buyers, other es dawet sellers have sprung up at this location. Reaching Es Dawet Ngudi Roso is easy, since it’ll be the first stall you see when going to Yogyakarta from the direction of Solo.
