Bailong Elevator or Bailong Elevator is a glass elevator built on a large cliff in the Wulingyuan area, Zhangjiajie, People's Republic of China. The elevator, which is 326 meters high, is the tallest and heaviest outdoor lift in the world. In Mandarin, Bailong means one hundred dragons.
Construction of the elevator began in October 1999 with an investment cost of about USD 20 million, and opened to the public in 2002. The elevator stopped operating for 10 months in 2002-2003 due to safety concerns.
The lift, which weighs 4,900 kilograms, has a capacity of 50 passengers. By taking this lift you can reach the top of the cliff in just 1 minute and 32 seconds!
On July 15, 2015, the elevator was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's tallest outdoor elevator.
