Borobudur Prambanan & Ratu Boko Temple Tourism Park will reopen the operation of the site and its facilities in early June 2020. This opening is carried out after closing the site for approximately three months due to the corona virus pandemic.

"We plan to reopen the site around June 8," said Director of Borobudur Temple Park Edy Setijono in Prambanan, Yogyakarta. According to him, the reopening will comply with the recommendation made by the government and the Kementerian BUMN (Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises), regarding the COVID-19 security protocol.

When it was closed, various efforts had been made to improve service quality standards towards clean, healthy and safe tourism. Edy also said that several health and safety protocols will be carried out at this destination including the use of masks and checking body temperature for tourists.
