Changi Airport Will Reopen For Transit on June 2, 2020

On June 2, 2020, Changi Airport will start welcoming transit passengers again. This is part of Singapore's strategy to gradually reopen air travel in the country.

Changi Airport in Singapore has consistently won awards for the best airport in the world, and is also a very popular transit hub. Since late March, the airport has been closed to transit passengers (except for repatriation flights), and there are now plans to reopen.

On June 2, 2020, Changi Airport will start welcoming transit passengers again. This is part of Singapore's strategy to gradually reopen air travel in the country.

That said, don't expect that Changi Airport will suddenly be full on June 2. The airport has experienced a drastic decline in the number of flights since last February.

Airlines will also apply some restrictions on passenger transportation. Transit passengers will also not be allowed to enter the country and will not even be allowed to visit The Jewel. The Jewel is the newest terminal at Changi airport, which has become a place for transit tourists to visit while waiting for their next flight.

In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore will implement “strict measures” to ensure that passengers remain in transit areas and do not mix with other passengers at the airport.

Although this is still far from returning to normal, it is quite a good news.
