Zweibrücken Observatory Resembling Star Wars’ R2-D2
The University of Zweibrücken in Germany has changed the design of its on-campus observatory to look like a Star Wars R2-D2 robot
The University of Zweibrücken in Germany has changed the design of its on-campus observatory to look like a Star Wars R2-D2 robot. The blue and white building looks like a giant replica of the R2-D2 robot from the Star Wars films.
This project is led by Professor Dr. Hubert Zitt, who was also a big fan of Star Wars films. He and his students quickly finished painting the observatory and turning it into the unique one it is today.
The Zweibrücken Observatory has 14 inch reflector binoculars which are often used for lectures and are open to the public.
