During his company visit to Singapore, Tim Cook took the time to visit Tiong Bahru Market for a typical Singaporean breakfast.
In the photo uploaded on his personal Twitter account , the CEO of the Apple company is seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, brown pants and black sneakers, and is accompanied by two Singapore residents: Darren Soh and Chia Aik Beng who are famous iPhone photographers.
They were seen ordering carrot cake, chwee kueh, sugarcane juice and soya bean milk.
Carrot cake is a typical Singaporean dish whose main ingredient is radish fried with eggs, onions and spices. Chwee kueh is a steamed rice cake with radish. To make chwee kueh, rice flour and water are mixed together to form a slightly thick mixture. They are then placed in a small bowl-shaped container and steamed. After that, the cake is sprinkled with radish which is sliced like dice and served with chili sauce.
In a tweet, he said he was amazed by the historical heritage of the Tiong Bahru area and really enjoyed Singapore's specialties - Amazing food! he said.
