In Bogor there are many hidden waterfalls that are worth visiting, one of them is Lontar Waterfall.
Lontar Waterfall is a tourist destination that you must visit to see the beautiful natural scenery of Bogor.
Lontar Waterfall has a height of about 30 m with a fairly heavy water discharge. The water source for this lontar waterfall comes from the Citanten river, which comes from the Halimun Mountains of Mount Salak. There’s a pond in front of the waterfall with a heavy flow of water.
The depth of the Lontar Waterfall pool reaches approximately 26 meters with an area of 7,000 m2. It is not recommended for tourists to swim or just soak in the pool.
Lontar Waterfall is a Hydropower Resource
Did you know that Lontar Waterfall is a source of hydroelectric power plants (PLTA)? This utilization has also been carried out since the Dutch era. Because the water discharge is very high, it is very potential for hydropower resources in the Leuwiliang District area, Bogor Regency.

Inside Lontar Waterfall, there is a very dangerous pond for visitors. Therefore, at Lontar Waterfall, it is strictly forbidden to swim in the pond because the water discharge and depth can be dangerous.

You can go to Lontar Waterfall using car or motorbike. Some are also seen using a mountain bike to get to Lontar Waterfall.
