You can plug in the phone. What song will you play?
Torii is a traditional Japanese gate most often found at the entrance or inside a shrine where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred.
Karaoke Torii
In 2017, American artist Benoit Maubrey used 300 medium to large speakers to build a Torii Gate 4 meters high and 4.8 meters wide.
This speaker really makes a sound and is equipped with Bluetooth so you can play music from your smartphone. This Torii is dubbed Karaoke Torii.
Initially, this Karaoke Torii was exhibited at the Kobe Biennale festival in 2015, but was disbanded at the end of the festival. When a festival committee member found out about it, they negotiated to move him to Kamiyama, Tokushima Prefecture.
