Elbphilharmonie Otherwise known as Elphi is a concert hall in the HafenCity area of Hamburg, Germany. This building is one of the largest concert halls with the most advanced acoustics in the world.

The building consists mostly of glass resembling sails or waves and is built on an old warehouse building called Kaispeicher A. The building was designed by the architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron. This building is the tallest building in Hamburg with a height of 108 meters.

The curved escalator from the main entrance of the building connects the ground floor with the observation deck, the Plaza which is located on the 8th floor. The Plaza is accessible to the public to enjoy views of Hamburg and the Elbe river. The Plaza is also connected to the main lobby of the concert hall.

Elbphilharmonie has three concert venues. The Great Concert Hall which has a stage in the middle of the room can accommodate 2,100 spectators.

The acoustics of this room were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota who installed approximately 10,000 individually crafted drywall plates to absorb sound waves.

The Great Concert Hall also has a pipe organ with 69 registers built by Klais Orgelbau. The Recital Hall, intended for musical recitals and jazz concerts, seats 550 people.

In addition, there is also a Kaistudio which can accommodate 170 people and is usually to serve educational events.

The eastern part of the building is Westin Hamburg Hotel which opened on November 4, 2016. The hotel has 244 rooms located on floors 9 to 20. The west side of the Elphi complex contains 45 luxury apartments. The Elphi complex also has conference rooms, a restaurant, bar, spa, and parking space for 433 cars.
