Japan: Yakitori

Yakitori is definitely the best comfort food. Fresh cutlets are marinated, put on bamboo skewers, and grilled over hot coals. Traditionally, visitors often buy their yakitori from roadside stalls and casual izakaya eateries. This simple dish has become so popular that it can now be found on the menus of Michelin starred Restaurants!

South Korea: Naengmyeon

In summer, what could be more refreshing than a bowl of naengmyeon – Korean cold noodle soup? Soba noodles soaked in beef broth or pickled radish (kimchi) soup, create a distinctive yet very satisfying taste sensation. Originating in North Korea, this dish has now become a summer favorite in South Korea.

Philippines: Halo Halo

Finally, for dessert, from the Philippines, a refreshing bowl of halo halo is ready to be enjoyed. Perfect for cooling off on a hot day, this dish consists of shaved ice and sweetened condensed milk, topped with exotic toppings such as sago, banana, and grilled rice. Each region of the Philippines has its own version of Halo Halo, based on local ingredients.
