Raffles Hotel, founded in 1887, reopened on 1 August 2019 after renovations that began two and a half years ago.

Raffles Hotel Singapore is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, part of French hospitality company Accor SA. The hotel itself is owned by Qatar-based Katara Hospitality.

Design-wise not much has changed from this hotel building apart from a fresh coat of paint and new white marble floors. The number of suites at this hotel has now increased to 115 suites from 103 before the renovation. The Jubilee Theater at this hotel has been transformed into a ballroom that can accommodate 300 guests. In addition, the air conditioning system (AC) was also replaced with the latest technology. The last renovation of this hotel took place in 1989 to 1991.

The Long Bar, known for its Singapore Sling cocktails and signature peanut-studded floor, has also reopened along with Tiffin Room, The Lobby, Writers Bar, Raffles Courtyard and Ah Teng's Cafe.

On the first day after the renovation, the hotel occupancy reached 65 percent and is predicted to increase to 85 percent on the second day.
