A man who is a big fan of the Tintin series from Indonesia goes on an adventure to find real-world locations in the Tintin series. Photos of his adventures are also global because they are highlighted on social media.

A post from the Facebook page features a photo of the adventures of Nelwin Aldriansyah, a huge Tintin fan who has visited 18 countries in search of real-world locations in the classic TinTin comic book.

To date, Nelwin says that his adventures have found 31 locations in 18 different countries. Here are some of them:

What inspired Nelwin?

In the Kompas interview, Nelwin admitted that the first location Nelwin visited was the Qutub Minar, a tower in Delhi, India. He knew the tower very well when he saw it on a road trip in 2005.

When he returned to his hometown of Jakarta and checked his comics, he found an ancient monument in one of his books, "Tintin in Tibet".

In 2014, he became aware of the many real-world locations depicted in the Tintin comic book. Because of this, he began searching for the locations depicted in the comics, tracking them down during his travels between 2016 and 2019.
