McDonald's is everybody's favorite for classic cheeseburgers, fries, and sodas. This outlet has an old all-American image that has been cultivated to great success. McDonald's is often said to be unable to innovate compared to its competitors. However, this time, with this new sandwich collection, McDonald's is proving that this fast food outlet is just as innovative as its competitors.

The New Burger Menu at McDonald's

First, the "bread" is not a typical bread made of bread at all, but rice bread baked into the shape of a loaf. And not just any rice. The rice used is known as Koshihikari, a popular staple food in Japan known for its plump grain and delicious taste.

Then you have meat, which is not your standard meaty diet. You can choose from a fried chicken patty with a slice of garlic bacon, a fried prawn patty, or a pork teriyaki patty.

Finally, each sandwich has a unique dressing. The chicken one has a mayo-based sauce seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and chili, while the shrimp option has a red chili and garlic sauce. Pork teriyaki, as you might expect, comes with teriyaki sauce.

Available Only at Night

Another unusual thing about this new McDonald's menu is that you can only buy it at night. They're called the Night Mac collection and won't go on sale until 5 pm each day at McDonald's.

If you go to a 24-hour restaurant, you can order it until 4:59 am, which will be handy if you are still awake. The commercial for the Night Mac collection is also quite funny, as it depicts a vampire stumbling out of his coffin and posing as a McDonald's employee to gain access to a sandwich.

Price and Availability

The deluxe new sandwiches go on sale on June 29, with price ranging from JPY430 (US$3.16) to JPY740 (US$5.44). Surprisingly, there's no indication that these new sandwiches are a limited edition item, so for now, you can get them any time.
