Star Wars Plane Made of 2.5 Million LEGO Pieces Lands on a Swiss Mountain

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of LEGO's collaboration with Star Wars, LEGO has “landed” a replica of the Star Wars X-Wing fighter on the Jungfraujoch mountain in Switzerland.

This replica of the X-Wing fighter is 10x10 meters in size, made of 2.5 million LEGO blocks and required 1,500 hours and 10 people led by LEGO Certified Professional, Georg Schmitt, to assemble.

This LEGO installation at the highest altitude on earth (3,454 meters above sea level) is reminiscent of the Star Wars movie scene The Empire Strikes Back when the X-Wing planes battle it out on the snow planet Hoth.

LEGO, at the celebration of The Force Friday on October 4, 2019, in an official statement explained that according to the motto, “The Force is in your hands”, difficult things that seem impossible like landing a plane on a mountain can be done with the power of the Force.
