The Royal Palace restaurant in the city of Renesse, Netherlands, uses robot waiters to reduce contact with guests.

The red and white robot waiter is able to greet customers with "hello" and "welcome", serving food and picking up used plates from the table. These servant robots don't yet have nicknames, but there are some suggestions for naming them Ro and Bot.

Leah Hu, a member of the restaurant owner's family, said that this robot is not to replace, but to help humans. With robots, some tasks can be shifted so that human waiters can perform more important tasks and pay attention to guests.

After being closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants in the Netherlands have started to reopen, but with restrictions on the number of guests. The Royal Palace restaurant serves Chinese, Japanese, and Indonesian specialties.
