The country abolished its pre-departure test mandate in early September and removed mandatory quarantines for unvaccinated travelers in June this year. The government has also seen a decline in COVID-19 cases, which led to this decision.

Recently, South Korea recorded 28,497 new COVID cases as of September 29. "The weekly number of infections has declined for the first time in nine weeks, and the virus is showing signs of slowing down," Lee Ki-il, South Korea's second deputy health minister.

South Korea also officially removed the mandatory outdoor mask requirement in September, and those who test positive for the virus must self-isolate for seven days. This is undoubtedly a green light for tourists who plan to travel to South Korea at the end of this year.
