The Winter Festival is a Chinese festival celebrated on December 22, 2019 where family members gather to celebrate a reunion while enjoying Tang Yuan or sticky rice balls. In Indonesia, Tang Yuan is similar to “Wedang Ronde”, namely sticky rice balls filled with mashed sweet beans and served with ginger water or coconut sugar sprinkled with peanuts, slices of bread and kolang-kaling.

Peanut butter maker, Skippy, teamed up with supermarket Family Mart to launch a special edition Tang Yuan. Each pack contains 10 sticky rice balls filled with Skippy peanut butter, selling for NT$69 (Taiwan dollars) or around IDR 32,000.

Tang Yuan stuffed with Skippy peanut butter is smooth, more fragrant and savory than ordinary peanut Tang Yuan. In addition, inside the glutinous rice balls there are also peanut flakes with the distinctive taste of Skippy peanut butter that are crunchy in your mouth.

If you are going to Taiwan don't forget to try it or take it home as a souvenir!
