These sand dunes are rare in all of Southeast Asia. In fact, there are only 3 countries that have any sand dunes at all.

Parangkusumo sand dune is about 28 kilometers with a travel time of about 1 to 2 hours from downtown Yogyakarta.

This sand dune stretches for 2 kilometers along the coast from Parangtritis Beach to Depok Beach.

Although these sand dunes stretch to the south of Java, the most significant formations are in Yogyakarta.

Parangkusumo Sand Dunes is open every Monday to Sunday at 07.00 WIB and closes at 18.00 WIB.
