New York City’s Yellow Cab Taxi are starting to use electric cars. We often encounter this distinctive yellow taxi in various Hollywood or American movie scenes. The Tesla Model 3 was the first electric car brand to be approved for operation as an electric taxi in New York City.

Yellow Cab Taxi plans to add hundreds of electric cars to start the electrification of its taxi fleet, which totals more than 13,000 units.

In addition to New York City, the Columbus Yellow Cab taxi company in the city of Columbus, Ohio announced that it was buying 10 Tesla Model 3 electric cars to accelerate the electrification of its 170-car taxi fleet.

Tesla brand electric cars are also popularly used as taxis in Europe. In the Netherlands, more than 100 Tesla Model X cars have been operated as Amsterdam airport taxis since 2014.
