Location and Access to Lake Buyan

Lake Buyan is located about 30 km from Denpasar. The journey from Denpasar takes about 1.5 hours via the Bedugul route. Access to the lake is easy with private vehicles, and there is an adequate parking area around the location.

Opening Hours and Ticket Prices

Lake Buyan is open every day for 24 hours, providing free access for tourists. The entrance ticket price is affordable, which is 10.000 IDR per person, with a parking fee of 3.000 IDR for motorbikes and 5.000 IDR for cars. For those who want to camp, there is a camping fee of 10.000 IDR per person.

Lake Buyan is located at an altitude of 1,350 above sea level, making it a cool place with clear and quite cold water. With an area of 490 hectares and a depth of 89 meters, this lake is surrounded by tropical forests which add to the calm and natural atmosphere. The temperature around the lake is very cool, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the mountain air.

Camping and Nature Tourism Activities

Lake Buyan is famous as the best camping spot in Bali. Tourists can set up tents on the edge of the lake and enjoy a quiet night with beautiful views of the stars.

Basic facilities such as toilets and food stalls are available to support the comfort of visitors. In addition, the trekking trail around the lake offers an exciting nature exploration experience.

The Formation of Lake

Lake Buyan has an interesting geological history, formed by a major landslide in the 19th century. Over time, this lake became one of the twin lakes connected to Lake Tamblingan, although separated by dense forest.
