Kinkaku-ji Temple, Kyoto, Japan

Set in a beautiful garden in northern Kyoto, Kinkaku-ji (literally "Temple of the Golden Pavilion") is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed zen temple. The pavilion has three levels, the first level has wooden pillars and white walls, while the second level is completely covered with gold leaf. The third and highest level, gilded inside and out, and topped with a beautiful golden phoenix.
