In order to release the anime film Stand By Me Doraemon 2, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) has opened a new virtual reality roller coaster ride on August 4, 2020.

The Ride XR is a high-speed rollercoaster with a variety of ups and downs and twists and turns. This virtual reality roller coaster will feature a pre-film story and be worked on directly under the supervision of directors Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki.

Riders will travel to the future to attend Nobita and Shizuka's wedding. However, the adult Nobita steals the time machine and runs away from the wedding. Riders then board the Space Scooter to chase Nobita through space and time and bring him back.
