Location and Route to Bori Kalimbuang

Bori Kalimbuang is located in Sesean District, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. The location is about 7 kilometers from Rantepao City, accessible by private or public vehicles.

Opening Hours and Ticket Price

Bori Kalimbuang is open every day from 08.00 to 18.00 WITA. Entrance tickets are 15.000 IDR per person, which includes access to the menhir area and stone graves. This fee is affordable for a unique cultural tourism experience.

The main attraction of Bori Kalimbuang is the 102 menhir stones of varying sizes. These menhirs were erected to honor deceased traditional leaders or nobles, making them an important symbol in Torajan tradition.

Some menhirs are taller than humans, creating a majestic sight compared to Stonehenge in England. In addition, the site also has stone graves or Liang Paa' and the Rante area is used for large traditional ceremonies.
