This museum was built on December 11, 1973, by I Mangngi Mangngi Daeng Matutu Karaeng Bontonompu Sultan Muhammad Thahir Muhibudding Tumenengari Sungguminasa. Another uniqueness lies in the architecture of the traditional stilt house which reflects local culture.
